Ridiculous hCG Acronyms

hCG: Human chorionic gonadotropin or human chorionic gonadotrophin: is a glycoprotein hormone produced during pregnancy that is made by the developing embryo after conception and later by the syncytiotrophoblast (part of the placenta),[1][2] but it is not known whether this production is a contributing cause or an effect of tumorigenesis. hCG is also produced in the pituitary gland of males and females of all ages. Phases: The Protocol is broken into 4 parts or phases.

  1. Phase 1: Binge days. These are the days where you load your body with fat in preparation for the diet. Also thought of as priming the system. Usually 2 days.
  2. Phase 2/P2/VCLD: Very Low Calorie Diet. This is the loss portion of the protocol. You follow a very strict, very low calorie diet. This portion lasts 21-40 days with at least 21 consecutive ones being cheat-free. You transition for 2-3 days so you end up with 23-43 days of VLCD.
  3. Phase 3/P3: Low Carb stabilization. This is the portion where your hypothalamus resets. You must not go any more than 2 pounds over your last dose/injection weight. If that happens you must do a correction day. This phase lasts 21 days.
  4. Phase 4: Forever foods. This is the last phase where you add in all the things you want to eat. Slowly of course. If you have hit your goal you are done with the protocol. If you aren’t at goal yet, this also lasts for 21 days. If you go above 5 pounds over your goal weight, then you do a P3 correction day.

LDW/LIW- Last Dose Weight/Last Injection Weight: What you weighed the last day you were on hCG. This is an important number because it is the number that triggers correction days.

Rounds: Each cycle through the phases is called a round.

R#P#D#: Used on forums it indicates what Round/Phase/Day your are on.

Amanda is an interesting soul. Aside from being a poet and dabbling essayist, she also does research projects for fun. The muses are currently directing her to catalogue Afro-Cuban herbs used in the Lucumi religion, research the occurrences of non-traditional religion in modern society, develop a not-for-profit society for the religions of the African diaspora, write more fiction and poetry, develop an educational outreach company to bring museum field trips into schools/libraries, and collect her favorite recipes and food stories into a book, all while being the best mom she can be and going back to school.
